How does it work?
A PDO Thread Lift uses soluble polydioxanone threads, similar to the threads used for surgical stitches. When inserted into the skin, the PDO threads act as a scaffold for the skin, allowing the skin to hold onto the threads and stay lifted while forming new collagen. The threads will eventually absorb into your skin within 4-6 months, leaving behind tighter and smoother skin. What can I expect during the treatment?
During a PDO Thread Lift, the polydioxanone threads are inserted into the skin using a very fine needle. Depending on the area treated, smooth threads or barbed (cogged) threads are introduced into your skin to give you immediate desired results. These results will continue to improve in the days and weeks following as new collagen is produced. The overall texture of your skin will improve by becoming firmer, tighter, and smoother. What are the results?
PDO threads immediately give you visibly lifted skin. The treated area will feel tighter and sometimes a dark line can be visible where the threads were inserted. Any slight bruising, pink skin, or visible thread lines will disappear in about a week, though results vary from person to person. Results typically last for up to two years. Is it safe?
There is no downtime and you may resume normal activity the next day. Minor side effects are rare but may include infection, bruising, swelling, tenderness, numbness, and slight asymmetry which will resolve over a few weeks after the procedure. |
